HVAC Restoration Standard Out for Public Review

May 22, 2015

The Air Conditioning Contractors of America Educational Institute (ACCA-EI) Standards Task Team (STT) announces an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) public review period for its BSR/ACCA 6 QR -201x, “Restoring the Cleanliness of HVAC Systems” as a revised industry standard. The 45 day public review period started on May 22, 2015 with a comment deadline of July 6, 2015.

The revised standard establishes minimum criteria for the cleaning of HVAC systems that require cleaning activities beyond those performed in normal HVAC maintenance and servicing. The standard also outlines the procedures to control contaminants which may be released during or after the cleaning process, and to provide methods to verify system cleanliness.

The revised standard draft and response form can be found at www.acca.org/ansi. Comments and questions can be addressed to standards-sec@acca.org.
