March 21, 2017

ACCA, the Indoor Environment & Energy Efficiency Association, and its Corporate Partner, Federated Insurance, have award Bruce Beckwith of Beckwith Heating & Cooling in Akron, OH, with Federated's ACCA Super S.T.A.R. Award.

Beckwith was a standout candidate for this award due to his company's consistent and thorough commitment to proactively managing all on-the-job employee safety risks. Some of those programs include: pre-employment driving record screening; a drug-free workplace program that include drug testing; GPS and back-up cameras installed on all vehicles; and weekly safety training programs.

“Bruce Beckwith is an ACCA member who believes that every one of his employees has the right to return home from work safely each day to their families and loved ones," said Nate Oland, special projects manager-marketing, Federated Insurance. "His sound business practices serve as proof of what he believes and hopefully inspires other contractors to do the same."

"ACCA is proud to be partnered with Federated Insurance to present this award to Bruce Beckwith," said Paul T. Stalknecht, ACCA president and CEO. "Contractors who provide safe working environments for their teams, their customers, and the general public are leaders in our industry. Bruce has not only done all the basic things all contractors should be doing, but he has put a focus on safety that makes his company and community better for his efforts."

Beckwith was honored during the IE3 Show, which is taking place this week at the Gaylord Opryland in Nashville, TN. He was presented Federated's ACCA Super S.T.A.R. Award during the Industry Champions breakfast.

Federated's ACCA Super S.T.A.R. Award recognizes an ACCA contractor member and Federated Insurance client who make managing their employee and customer risks a top priority in their company's success. Recipients have both leading programs and practices in place that focus on the four components that make up the S.T.A.R. acronym: Safety, Teamwork, Action, and Responsibility.
