A2L Refrigerant Safety Training Live Virtual

A2L Refrigerant Safety Training
LIVE VIRTUAL COURSE

Brought to you by RightTek and ACCA

Join ACCA and RightTek HVAC Training for live virtual training on A2L flammable refrigerants.

As the HVACR industry evolves, HFCs such as R-410A and R-404A are being phased down in favor of new, more energy-efficient, and environmentally friendly lower-GWP refrigerants, such as R-32 and R-454B.

Unlike the last refrigerant transition, which shifted from the use of one nonflammable refrigerant to another, many of these new refrigerants are mildly flammable (A2L), so additional training will be needed in order to use them safely.

In this course we will focus on how to handle A2L refrigerants effectively to improve your workflow and service quality, and implement best practices to minimize risks and ensure safe operations.

What Does the LIVE VIRTUAL A2L Safety Training Cover?

  • Transition to Low GWP Refrigerants: Focus on R-32 and R-454B, which have lower Global Warming Potential (GWP) compared to traditional refrigerants like R-410A.
  • Practical Handling Tips: Guidelines on safe handling, transportation, and storage of A2L refrigerants, including the importance of proper ventilation and the use of fire extinguishers.
  • Jobsite Safety: Recommendations for ensuring safety at the job site, such as evaluating for potential hazards, maintaining proper ventilation, and designating a safe perimeter.
  • Technical Aspects: Insights into the basic refrigeration cycle, compatible tools, and best practices for brazing, leak testing, and system repairs.
  • Mitigation Measures: Steps to take in case of a refrigerant leak, including shutting down compressor operation, turning on the blower, and ensuring the system is properly grounded.
  • Service Procedures: Detailed procedures for handling A2L refrigerants, including recovery, nitrogen sweeping, and leak testing.

What You Will Learn:

  •  Properties of A2L Refrigerants: Discover how these refrigerants absorb and retain radiant heat, and their shorter atmospheric lifetimes compared to HCFC refrigerants.
  •  Safety Measures: Learn about the necessary precautions to prevent leaks and ensure safety during installation and maintenance.
  •  Technical Aspects: Gain insights into the basic refrigeration cycle, compatible tools, and best practices for brazing, leak testing, and system repairs.

How is this course different from the on-demand option?

This course applies all of the same knowledge from our on-demand A2L Safety Training with a few small additions. The live virtual class offers real-time interaction and practical scenarios, ideal for those who need immediate training and the ability to ask questions, while the on-demand option offers flexibility and convenience.

This course:

  • Speaks to the most up-to-date practices, featuring updated content that has evolved since the release of the on-demand version, covering the latest and greatest.
  • Provides an Opportunity to ask questions to a live lecturer
  • Offers team training flexibility, allowing multiple employees at once to train. (only the individual who registers will be provided a certificate).
