Eric Grennell is the President of Lakes Region HVAC, a specialty HVAC contracting firm he founded in 1992 and incorporated in 1994, based in Loudon, New Hampshire. The company operates with approximately 22 employees and focuses on the installation and service of high-end residential systems, including geothermal, radiant heating, gas boiler, and DDC control systems, many of which Grennell designs himself. Lakes Region HVAC holds Carrier CFAD dealer status with five Presidents Award recognitions, Mitsubishi Diamond Elite dealer status, and Viessmann CPRO certification.
Grennell reports more than 40 years of experience as an owner or senior manager in HVACR contracting. He holds NATE and BPI certifications in addition to his manufacturer credentials. He began his first HVAC business in 1986 and, following a serious injury and extended recovery in the late 1980s, rebuilt and reestablished his current business in the early 1990s. In his application bio, he noted that a consistent measure of his firm's reputation is that manufacturers and wholesalers regularly call on Lakes Region HVAC to install systems in their own facilities and resolve problems on difficult jobs.
Grennell has been an ACCA member for approximately 15 years and joined an ACCA MIX Group roughly four years ago. His current committee involvement includes serving as Co-Chair of the Membership Growth Committee, membership on the ACO Task Force, the Dodge ACO Group, and the Enterprise Membership Task Force. He previously served on the Radiant and Hydronics Council prior to its disbandment. He is enrolled in ACCA's QA accreditation program and has attended ACCA's Annual Conference and Service Manager Forum. He has also donated to and attended events associated with ACCA's Political Action Committee and participated in the most recent Advocacy Day.
In his application, Grennell described his motivation for board service in straightforward terms: "After over 30 years in business I am at a point in my life where the business does a reasonably good job of running itself allowing me the time to pursue other passions including HVAC, and the desire to give back to the trade that has been very good to me." He identified workforce development and broader adoption of ACCA's quality installation standards, particularly improving distribution system efficiency , as his primary issue priorities.
