A top priority to Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) is to encourage more people to find rewarding careers in the skilled trades.

ACCA's Workforce Development initiative is free to members in good standing and provides both direction and a variety of online resources to help business owners participate in attracting and training students to enter and thrive in the HVACR trade.

ACCA took the Pledge to America's Workers with Former President Trump, Former Vice President Pence, and Ms. Ivanka Trump on July 25, 2019. On behalf of ACCA members, ACCA pledged to train 75,000 HVACR professionals.

ACCA Members followed up by pledging additional jobs and educational opportunities to the Pledge to America's Workers. ACCA Members make up over 10% of the companies committed to the Pledge!

Support Career and Technical Education

The final Fiscal Year (FY) 2021 omnibus appropriations bill provided good news for Career and Technical Education (CTE) funding. A $52.25 million increase was made to the Perkins Basic State Grant, bringing the total to $1.334 billion available for CTE participants.

The appropriations bill also provided: Adult Education: $674,955, Pell Grants: $5,435 for the maximum award, Federal Work-Study: $1,190,000, Career Pathways for Youth Grants: $10 million, Strengthening Community College Training Grants (SCCTG): $45 million, Apprenticeship Grant Program: $185 million to support registered apprenticeships.

ACCA has published a guide that will help you to establish local school cooperative programs for career and technical education. Based on best practices and years of experience, the guide introduces you to the ways in which you can reach out to school programs to participate. Your participation provides students with the hands-on experience and mentorship they need to be prepared to enter the labor market as skilled trades workers. These programs serve high-school through adult students.
