Dan Dinsmore, CEO of Overit, delivered a sobering wake-up call during his session, “Turning Up the Heat on Customer Loyalty”, at ACCA 2025 in Austin, Texas, in March: “For a smaller HVACR company doing about $2 million in net services, you’re looking at about $500,000-$600,000 churn” when effective retention tactics aren’t in place.
With baseline churn rates hitting 25%-35% across the industry, contractors are essentially throwing away a year’s worth of growth annually.
