Walter Reckinger

Bio

Walter "Pete" Reckinger III has been an industry leader for more than 40 years. He has been recognized by his peers for his life long career dedication to high industry standards, professionalism, and codes and standards.

He was appointed by Michigan Governor Engler to serve on the State of Michigan's Board of Mechanical Rules which oversees Mechanical Contractor testing, licensing, and codes.

Mr. Reckinger has served on the Board of Directors of the National and Metropolitan Detroit Chapters of the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors' National Association (SMACNA) as well as with the State Chapter of the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA). He was Chairman of both association's Governmental Affairs Committees as well as Political Action Committees.

Besides receiving awards for his leadership from both associations, he has been recognized by the State of Michigan Legislature for his commitment to high industry standards and professionalism in a Joint Resolution. Additionally, his commitment to energy efficiency improvements were recognized once again by the Michigan Legislature in a Joint Resolution and an Award for energy efficiency innovation.

Mr. Reckinger has served on the advisory committees for the HVAC and Energy Technology programs at Henry Ford Community College and Wayne County Community College. After assisting in the implementation of the program at Henry Ford College, he taught classes for students attending night school classes at the college.

Mr. Reckinger is a veteran who enlisted in the United States Navy and served with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion One (NMBC-1) of the Seabees. He received his honorable discharge on 31 October 1967.
