1.  Distributor / Salesman / TM

Posted 9 days ago
During a conversation with a couple close HVAC friends at a recent dinner, Distributor interaction came up. The opinions were all over the spectrum from close personal friendships to keeping them at arms length due to past indiscretions. Personally i am somewhere in between, but i wondered where everyone else stood. How do most of your characterize your relationship with them?

Our relationship with our vendor partners is an important part of our success, without a strong network behind us we would not be able to function at the levels we desire. We have very close personal relationships with some and business only with others, however we do not work with anyone we would not trust or who is not contributing to our community. Collaboration with our vendor partners has helped us to grow and uncover new opportunities, and we do understand that these relationships are also business.

With most of my TM's I have a business associate type relationship. A couple over the years have become actual friends that have endured long after the business relationship.
