    Hi All,
I am wondering if anyone can provide any insights as to how they handle offering health insurance coverage for their employees?
The challenge that I keep encountering as a small company is that I'm told we are not large enough to qualify for a group policy.
Curious if any other small companies have found any cost-effective ways to handle this?
Also, wondering if there may be any industry group type memberships that may offer access to a group type policy?

we where able to get group rates years ago by being pooled with many small businesses through our chamber of commerce. Might not work in every state but its worth a shot

We are a tiny co, me and 5 employees, I do 50-50. That's just me; I find that when I paid 100%, there was an occasion where the spouse had benefits through their employer, so I feel like there was some money wasted.

You mention you're a small company.
I may have a source that can help you depending on how many team members you want to insure.
Let me know and I'll see what I can find out.

In the past we were members of the local AGC Associated General Contractors which offered group Health coverage to members. This would be state by state with the laws in the past about insurers not crossing state lines but could be changing. We are now involved with a PEO who does our complete payroll & benefits.

I believe the Better Business Bureau may have a group policy available.

    Two possible approaches:
    • Use a professional employer organization (PEO). We're with ADP TotalSource, but there are others. You get the benefit of someone buying for 400,000 employees. You can't buy solely health insurance, but it may be worth considering.
    • I'm not sure how many employees you have or at what size a broker will take you on as a client, but we've used a broker. Here's the company we've used before: Millennium Corporate Solutions.
