Since the ban-the-box ordinance, called the “Los Angeles Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring” (the Ordinance) was passed back in late January, and we reported on it to our readers on February 10, 2017, several posters and other documents with required language have been made available to employers on the City of Los Angeles Bureau of Contract Administration’s (the BCA) website:

Again, we urge our Los Angeles contractors to review their employment applications and any relevant employment forms to ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws, especially those using standardized forms and who operate in multiple jurisdictions outside of the Los Angeles area. And employers with questions regarding ban-the-box should consult with local counsel.
