ACCA and Federated Insurance Team Up to Present Super S.T.A.R. Award for Safety

December 13, 2016

ACCA, the Indoor Environment & Energy Efficiency Association, and Federated Insurance are pleased to announce Federated's ACCA Super S.T.A.R. Award. The first-ever award will be presented during the IE3 Show taking place March 20 - 22, 2017, at the Gaylord Opryland in Nashville, TN.

Federated's ACCA Super S.T.A.R. Award will recognize an ACCA contractor member and Federated Insurance client who make managing their employee and customer risks a top priority in their company's success. The ideal candidate will have both leading programs and practices in place that focus on the four components that make up the S.T.A.R. acronym: Safety, Teamwork, Action, and Responsibility.

"This award is about more than holding a safety toolbox talk meeting with employees every month," said Nate Oland, special projects manager-marketing, Federated Insurance. "Pro-active risk management must be a part of a company's everyday processes. That’s how it becomes engrained in their culture. We are excited to be partnering with ACCA on this new award by recognizing outstanding contracting companies who make a true commitment to providing a safe working environment for both their team members and customers."

"ACCA and Federated have been long time partners in providing contractors the resources they need to create safe workplaces," said Paul T. Stalknecht, ACCA president and CEO. "This award is another opportunity for us to highlight contractors who are doing the right things by their teams and making our industry a safer and more attractive place to work."

To be eligible to apply for the award, a contracting company must be both an ACCA member in good standing and a current Federated Insurance client. Those contractors who previously applied for the ACCA Safety Excellence Award earlier in 2016 will also be considered for the award, regardless of their status as a Federated Insurance Client.
