Announcing the 2010 ACCA Safety Masters Club Sponsored by Federated Insurance

ACCA has teamed up with Federated Insurance to help HVACR contractors demonstrate their commitment to safety in the workplace by implementing safety programs. Federated Insurance is a proven leader in providing small businesses with comprehensive risk management tools and resources.

Membership in the Safety Masters Club means more than just having a “clean” safety record. It’s about having a safety program with regular toolbox talks, implementing risk management policies and practices, and being prepared.

Any ACCA member can apply for recognition of their commitment to safety based on a category that matches the company’s size (in man hours): 0 to 15,000 hours; 15,001 to 40,000 hours; 40,001 to 100,000 hours; 100,001 to 200,000 hours; and 200,001 + hours. Applications can only apply once a year, and this is the time.

To be considered for the 2010 Safety Masters Club, an important ACCA membership benefit supported exclusively by Federated Insurance, all you need to do is complete a one-page application and attach a copy of your OSHA Form 300-A annual summary. Even if you are exempt from the Form 300 record keeping rules you can still apply to be a member of the 2010 Safety Masters Club.

This year, ACCA and Federated Insurance will be working to expand the opportunities for ACCA members to improve their exposure to expensive but highly-preventable losses. Helping contractors develop sound safety and risk management practices goes hand in hand with this effort.

ACCA is now accepting applications for the 2010 Safety Masters Club. The deadline is June 28, 2010. Download the form and instructions here.

Membership in the Safety Masters Club delivers concrete results.
It demonstrates to customers that you are committed to safety on the job.  As you know, trust is key between the building owner and contractor.  Part of this trust includes knowing that the contractor will work safely.  The Safety Masters Club is the marketing intangible that demonstrates this trust.  It could be the difference between your winning or losing a job.

Membership in the Safety Masters Club reinforces your commitment to existing employees - that you care about their future, and that you will do all in your power to ensure them a safe and healthy work environment. It serves as a strong recruitment tool for potential employees. Finally, it shows your insurance carrier or prospective carriers when you shop your business, that you run a safe business.  Industry studies have shown that contracting business with outstanding safety records receive more competitive insurance premiums than their peers.
