Mike has a diverse and extensive background having held numerous positions throughout his career, such as Field Foreman, Project Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Operations Manager, Director of Estimating & Sales and Vice President of Pre‐Construction Services. Mike’s diverse background, his innovative approach to never accepting the “status quo” and his ability to lead the way has contributed greatly to his success. These qualities have also contributed to the success of his employers. His leadership efforts at CSUSA‐SW have been instrumental in helping to elevate the company from a 7.5 million‐dollar organization to one of the largest and best in class Mechanical Contractors in the Southwest, with annual revenues reaching $115 million. Early in his career with CSUSA‐SW Mike’s was tasked with the goal to develop CSUSA‐SW into a true Design Build Mechanical Contractor. To obtain this goal, he focused his efforts on creating an estimating, sales and engineering culture second to none. Some of the key areas where Mike’s efforts were instrumental in CSUSA‐SW’s Design‐build Success include:

  • Development and implementation of pre‐construction processes that are now viewed as “the industry standard” in the CSUSA‐SW markets.
  • Helped develop and implement CSUSA‐SW Engineering and CAD Departments to support the pre‐construction and engineering efforts.
  • Developed and implemented budget and estimating tools that are used throughout the U.S. to help Contractors better evaluate the costs associated with different mechanical systems.
During his tenure with CSUSA‐SW, Mike also served as Executive Vice President for the company’s HydroKool Division, a pre-packaged central plant manufacturer. Mike was responsible for all aspects of this business unit including the engineering, manufacturing, sales and service of all products. Mike not only oversaw the day to day activities related to this product, but it was his innovative design and marketing ideas that were the catalyst that brought this product to life. The extensive utilization of 3D modeling for both the design and manufacturing processes along with strong exclusive OEM partnerships with material and equipment suppliers allowed the HydroKool division to quickly and successfully enter into a challenging market, during a challenging economy. This success came through the hard work and dedication of the team Mike had assembled to tackle the challenge. In early 2010, after a swift 5 year run from concept to market, the HydroKool division was sold to Daikin. Daikin being the largest air conditioning manufacturer in the world has continued to have success with the acquisition. Currently it is being marketed as one of their catalogued items, the MCP (Modular Central Plant) line of products.

Since the sale of HydroKool, along with his duties as Senior Vice President for CSUSA-SW, Mike has taken on a more global role within the CSUSA organization. Mike, along with a small team are currently working with CSUSA companies across the country to help integrate a “critical thinking process” into their organizations. The goal, is to help make all the CSUSA companies involved more effective in their day to day operations through the integration of the shared ideas and best practices. CSUSA‐SW’s hope in implementing this process, is to see all the CSUSA Operating Companies elevate themselves to the next level, becoming the benchmark in the in the industry, that all the competition wants o emulate. This goal will allow CSUSA to better serve their employees, their customers and their stockholders.
